BEAR HUNTING IN THE KAMCHATKA AREA …
… Must be the ultimate experience for any hunter.
After many years with successful tours, we have decided to repeat this success with a limited number of hunters. The Kamchatka brown bear is the largest bear in the eastern hemisphere with a fantastic coat. In contrast to the Alaska brown bear, which is long and slender, the Kamchatka bear has a quadratic body, which averages about 8.5 feet. Bears over 10 feet and skulls over 29 inches have been taken in this area.

THE TOUR AND HUNT
First we fly to Petropavlovsk on the Kamchatka Peninsula, and then we are transported to camp by helicopter. There will be 2-4 hunters in each camp and every hunter will have his very own guide. Lodging will include both cabins and tents. Snow machines will be used to transport the hunters into the hunting area. Hunting will generally be by spotting & stalking or by tracking. Warm weather may dictate the use of snowshoes. Please allow a total of 10 days, which 5-6 is primarily used for hunting. Although hunting trips are scheduled for April/May, on special request, arrangements can be made for fall trips. Our Russian guides have treated everyone with great hospitality. We work to make your trip successful.. hunting and otherwise!

This fantastic area is often called the “ the land of fire and ice” due to its location in the northern latitudes and its 33 active volcanoes. Please join us for not only a great hunt but to see one of the marvels of the world.

SIBERIAN IBEX AND SIBERIAN BROWN BEAR
Your hunting experience in Siberia will be conducted in the western Sajan Mountains, southeast of Abakan. These mountains border Mongolia to the south and here the Yenisey River begins it’s majestic journey northward to the Kara Sea. The river flows to the west from Mongolia then through Tuva and changes its course to the north through the Sajan Mountains. It is hard to imagine this natural wonder and one can only experience it by traveling through these breathtaking mountain areas.

The hunting takes place in mountainous terrain. A hunter, wanting to take home the largest trophy, must figure on climbing to the top of the mountain formations, (a climb of about 500 – 1000 meters).

After we arrive in Abakan, we will travel about 200 km, first by car and then later by boat (about 10 hours) until we arrive at the campsite. Hunting takes place in the river valley surrounded by grassy and tree covered mountainsides. We will use a boat to search for the game. Every hunter will have his very own guide. This area has unusually good trophies of Ibex and large brown bears with unique fine hide quality. The tour will take 14 days of which 8-10 days are primarily for hunting. The actual period for spring hunting is from the middle of May to the middle of June and fall hunting around the middle of October.
