The only thing better than sitting in a fish house looking thru a hole in the ice is relaxing in your living room watching Ice Fishing : The Cure for Cabin Fever. Have you ever seen a two-story fish house with a swimming pool-sized livewell, a bar and a fireplace? That's what you'll see as we visit Leech Lake in Northern Minnesota for the zany Eel Pout Festival touted as the biggest ice fishing event in the world. Then to Gull Lake near Brainerd, Minnesota where 6000 anglers compete for cash and prizes. We'll head to the Lake of the Woods, for walleye and northern pike so big, they barely fit thru the hole...scrappy farm pond rainbow trout...big-water tullibees, the much sought after yellow perch...and lots of big crappie and bluegills. |
